The CD tracks are separate so you can turn down either the guitar or flute. There is one or two measures of introduction by the guitar so you can use this CD for a gig or performance. Though you will want to listen to Jessica’s stunning performance of these pieces. She is really incredible and an inspiration. She is an incredible artist.

If you haven’t played a piece in 7/8 time you have a treat in store for you. Of course it’s a bit frustrating at first, but 7/8 time rocks. It’s a shame that there is not more music in this time signature and that musicians that are not living in Balkan countries rarely get to play them. It’s a skill to learn and have fun with and I have found no one who could do it right away. Even the symphony players and well schooled musicians stumble over their feet and drop back into 3/4 or 4/4 or 6/8 time. It is a well earned skill which is so much fun, and that doesn’t even consider the music, which is fantastic. Honestly you can’t play a piece like “Lesi” or “Adje jano” without wanting to play it again. This is the great music from Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and all the great countries of the Balkans which have added truly wonderful music to the repertoire for musicians.
